I think none of the combating sides won in this war. It was a disaster for the Gazans. They lost their loved ones. The worst part is that the new generation will suffer even more, being traumatized by what happened.

As for Israel, I think it won nothing. They did not defeat Hamas. Instead, they created more enemies, i.e. the children who became orphans because of this war.

After a million times of thinking..

I think that Hamas won the war.. they have stood their in the wage of their enemies.. and I believe that the Israeli War casualties and Killed numbers were forged by their lying "Mental war and media blinding tactics".

Yes Hamas have won... and somehow I think that this Gaza massacres came to the good of Arabs in a way.. coz it let us knew who the traitor are, who's with the cause and who've sold it out.

Indeed, the Israeli genocide was exposed for the "people" but I think it will do nothing to the politics,

Mara for me I think its a big big play... where America is doing favors for Israel and Israel is doing a great favor to America by "securing" its "toys" and "the toys Oil" and every political party will still happy...

The Palestinian case is so obvious now.. its all about some "PEOPLE".. and the exciting of Israel is all about securing some "people" too...

Since I know that I don't have that free of speech in my country, and my opinion might harm me in so many ways, and as I'm a Jordanian Palestinian and I'm a second level Jordanian citizen, and I KNOW that they can catch me even if i wrote my opinion over the net then I will only say one thing "Its a big play... and as you do not live in our region you will NEVER get the right "news" about whats happening in Palestine... coz the media now is serving those some people..."

I don't pretend to be an expert in politics too, but I know one thing for sure... "TO EXIST IS TO RESIST" and resistance is NOT terrorism coz its all about "defending the nation and getting whats was stolen from its own people..."

whatever cross anybody's mind about Islam, terror, Jihad, resistance and all that must have a very little explanation... "MEDIA..." they are "creating" religion war so they can connect every goal to religion and sow hatred between nations and religions so they can take any "political" need they want freely with the nations blessings...

Its that simple... Its all about some interests "sometimes personal"... nothing more...

As an American that voted for Obama, I am particularly disturbed by his support for Israel, considering that some of his campaign statements called for America to not take sides and instead seek a peaceful, progressive, two state solution. I understand that you are upset that Obama seems to be moving down the same path as Bush, but it is early and time will tell. It is interesting to note that while many Israeli's supported the latest offensive, many Jews in the United States that I know generally condemn these military actions as well as the settlements in the West Bank.

Secondly Maher, I agree with you that Israel's offensive in Gaza is overkill and will only lead to a generation of pissed off orphans. I don't think anyone "won" this war.

Finally, I wonder what effect the latest Israeli elections will have on their policy with the Palestinians? Kadima won the most seats in the parliamentary elections and is more favorable toward the Palestinians but Likud leader Netanyahu claims he can build a larger coalition and to form the government.

What has the United Nations been doing since the Isreal-Palastine conflict?

nothing, United Stated has been using their right (veto) in the United Nations to benefit Isreal.

By exercising their right, in each case they have favored Isreal. what will happen if Isreal abides by UN council's decision. everything since the creation of Isreal will surface, covering 40+ years of infomation

neither has won this war, when there is innocent lives being taken. also have to remember that for every innocent person being killed in Gaza, their family will have hatred for the invading force (Isreal). basically a nonstop cycle of what i call genocide by the IDF and a Call of arms by the oppressed. put everything back how it was and everthing would be perfect.

mmm... I know that as human beings we all feel so damn ugly when we see little girls being killed with media coverage and world silence.. weather their Americans, Palestinians, Palestinians, Christians, Muslims and even without religion... its just so unfair...

Its just unfair to invade my country.. kill my people... and steal my land... and over all that call me a terrorist..

it was the right for the Israel to defend itself.
Israel nations was always win since the beginning..because israel is Gods people since the beginning.
